Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteer your time and energy to make the day of one of our queens or heroes a
little brighter. Whether you wish to visit with the children, volunteer to help
raise funds, make blankets, there is a job for you to serve our organization.
Thank you to all our wonderful volunteers! Just a couple of reminders:
Volunteers must have a volunteer form on file PRIOR to working at an event. Our
volunteer forms can be found on our Web site at
www.detroitqfad.com/QFAD_Volunteer_form.pdf.
The organization Code of Conduct is important to understand, Please review it
at
www.detroitqfad.com/Volunteer_code_of_Conduct.pdf.
Volunteers may not bring friends or family members without the prior approval
of the event coordinator. We are limited to the number of volunteers we can
bring to each event.
Do not attend an event if you are not feeling well. Most of the children we
visit are very susceptible to illness. Make sure you let the event coordinator
know as soon as possible if you cannot attend.
Volunteers must wear a name tag. This is for your safety as well as the
children we visit. The event coordinator will have name tags available.
We ask that no shorts or tank tops be worn at the hospital visits. QFAD/Heroes
t-shirts are always a good option. Check out the options on our Web site at
www.detroitqfad.com/donations.html.
Comforting Blankets
Volunteers are needed to make blankets that we can give to Queens and Heroes
through our private visits. Blankets can be any size, color, pattern, and for
girls or boys. They can be knitted, crocheted, sewn or the soft fleece blankets
that are knotted. This will be an on-going project and the blankets can be
brought to the meetings, dropped off at Esther’s house, or arrangements can be
made for Esther to pick up the finished blankets. Contact Esther at
qfad.heroes@gmail.com or by phone 248 217-7656 for arrangements.
New Volunteers
If you are a first-time volunteer, please complete the
volunteer form and return it to:
